July / August ‘08

Well pards , there’s a bunch o’ things to talk ‘bout over the campfire.

SHERIFF A.B. DUPREE and JIMMY (Jingle-bobs) WALES met up with the SIXGUN KID out in Ohio for the prestigious “GUNS OF AUGUST” shoot. And our very-own JIMMY WALES took the Buckaroo category - 1^st place winner - and he was in the top-gun shoot-off too !!

WAY TO GO, PARD !!

There was an East End Regulator posse at the BLUE MOUNTAIN shoot in Pennsylvannia. The weather was hot, but the shootin’ was great, and (as always) Lester Moore & his gang put out a real nice welcome. It was great fun.

Right after the BLUE MOUNTAIN shoot was the GREAT NOR’EASTER in New Hampshire. Wow !! The shooters had a fantastic time there too! There was a passel o’ REGULATORS there, and thanks to the hospitality of TOMBSTONE BONES and COTTONWOOD CANDY, even after the shootin’ the goodtimes kept on rollin’.

On the local scene (as they say in the newspapers) Our July meeting was at MEAN DALLAS GENE’s spread and, boy, does he put out the welcoming mat ….. when I say a feast was consumed by all, I mean it !! We also managed to discuss some club business; the club has purchased tents (or “awning” or whatever you wanna call’em) for the pits. These were workin’ pretty good at the last shoot.

Speakin’ of our last shoot – IT WAS OUR FIRST-EVER SATURDAY SHOOT. And it off without much of a hassle. We kept the number of props and targets down a bit, but the shoot was still a good one; with a pretty-good turn out.

Next time you’re out at the range you’ll notice a big change : pits 1 & 2 are now one big pit. This will mean some reorganization in our shooting scenarios, no moving forward or going forward for target resetting on those pits, …. but it’ll still work O.K.

Our next meeting is : Sunday Aug. 17^th 4:00 p.m. at New England Pete’s ranch.

Dates to keep in mind:

Sept. 13^th is our Club picnic – and you know we always have a great time there – same place as always too.

Dec. 13^th ( Saturday) is our Club Christmas party. This year it’s going to at J.C.’s at the Pine Hills Country Club, in Manorville.
